Bead Blasting is a forceful stream of abrasive material against a high-pressure surface to soften a rough surface, scrape a smooth surface, form a surface or remove surface contaminants.
Masking is a critical part of the anodizing process. It protects the areas of the part that do not require anodization. All areas of a piece that are not meant to be anodized must be masked to prevent damage or modification of its dimensions. All masking is applied according to customer drawings and specifications. All masking materials are removed after the parts have finished the chemical processing.
Water Immersion is a corrosion testing technique that is characterized by the full or partial submersion of a metal in water to evaluate its corrosive response in similar application environments. This test is required for customer products that have become passive after our chemical passivation process.
If necessary, Pre-Plate Stress Relief can relieve stress after machining and prior to plating. This prevents distortion due to stress build-up. Heavily stressed, high hardness steel parts can crack due to the hydrogen embrittlement while they are being plated and this process helps prevent that from happening.
Post- Plate Bake Hydrogen Embrittlement Relief would occur after plating to remove the hydrogen that was infused during the cleaning and plating processes.
